Creators are losing both control over their earnings and intellectual property rights. As major platforms scale back royalty enforcement and AI disrupts ownership norms, artists are being stripped of guaranteed compensation and the ability to determine how their work is used and monetized.

At Nifty Gateway Studio, we’re building solutions that put creators back in the driver’s seat—ensuring long-term control, and continued earnings from their work over time.

Using onchain technology (ERC-2981) we ensure our creators are consistently compensated for sales of their work within the NGS ecosystem. To date, this commitment has resulted in over $372 Million in royalties paid to creators.

Beyond this, we continue to innovate and explore new royalty structures, like the Sliding Royalty Scale, introduced in partnership with Sam Spratt for the launch of Masquerade. This model allows creator and platform royalties to scale alongside the artwork’s market value. With Masquerade, royalties start at 1% and increase as the artwork's value rises. If the piece resells below its mint price, no royalties are paid. It's a structure designed to foster a shared ecosystem where the artist, platform, and collectors grow together, each equally invested in supporting and driving that growth.
